Thermal-Vac Arizona Announces Start of Full Operations

CHINO VALLEY, CA—With the final testing process complete on its new vacuum furnace, Thermal-Vac Arizona has announced the full launch of its brazing, heat treating, testing, and machining services. Along with engineering support and full fabrication process management, Thermal-Vac Arizona offers comprehensive planning, joining, and finishing services to manufacturers throughout the southwest.

Hard work and dedication

The company’s Chino Valley facility, located on State Route 89, is the culmination of more than two years of work by Thermal-Vac Arizona President Sean Driscol, who saw an unmet demand in northern Arizona for the company’s services. As a second-generation member of a family with a long history in the industry, Driscol knew he had plenty of work ahead.

“You might say we have a family tradition of taking on tough challenges,” Driscol says. “Starting a new facility is never easy. It was something I hadn’t done before, and I knew it would come with surprises. It’s taken a lot of hard work and patience. We think our customers will be happy with what we can do.”

Starting a new brazing facility in northern Arizona has been a learning process for Driscol. “Testing new equipment is routine,” he says. “I’ve had to learn about new sides of the business to get through the permitting process. It has been an opportunity for me to grow professionally.”

Continuing a family tradition

Thermal-Vac Arizona carries forward the expertise and commitment to quality of its sibling business headquartered in Orange, California, which Driscol’s father founded in 1985. “I grew up listening to conversations about vacuum brazing at the dinner table,” Driscol says. After nearly 20 years overseeing operations at the Orange facility, he wanted to try something new.

“My dad started the business in Orange because he knew he could deliver vacuum brazing services better than anyone else,” Driscol explains. “It was a big risk for him in those days, but he ended up doing work for some of the biggest names in industry. Starting up the Chino Valley shop feels like coming full circle.”

A wide range of services

Along with vacuum brazing and heat treating, the Chino Valley facility provides machining services on site. “We’ve partnered with a skilled machinist so we can provide more services under one roof,” Driscol says. “Especially when brazing is involved, having the machining process right here allows for better quality control. It also saves the customer money and time.”

Bringing start-to-finish services under one roof has been central to Driscol’s approach to the new facility. “We like to say that we’re obsessed with customers. Our goal is to be the customer’s one-stop resource for solving process challenges all the way from design to delivery.” Thermal-Vac Arizona offers engineering support, as well as upstream and downstream logistics support.

“The best outcomes start with detailed planning,” Driscol says. “Most companies don’t have the kind of experience we do when it comes to brazing and heat treating. We like to get involved early so the end result is exactly what the customer needs.”

The new facility may be all business, but the team has added a splash of blazing colors to the walls as a reflection of Thermal-Vac’s company culture. “We take our job seriously, but we also have fun,” Driscol says. “We had some time to experiment with our color scheme and I think it turned out great.”

As of now, Thermal-Vac Arizona is fully operational and taking orders.
